Do Unto Others
Lend a Helping Hand to Students in Need
Everyday children in our Santa Rosa community face challenges. Many come from families struggling to make ends meet, and some even experience homelessness. These children may not have shoes, warm clothing, or glasses for reading. We know they are in our community. But how do we know who they are? How do we know what critical issues they face? And finally, how do we help them?
DUO
Welcome to DUO
We Believe That We can Change More Lives with You
Who are they?
We have partnered with the school system to help us target the children we need to help. The principals and staff of each public school are our eyes and ears.
What critical issues do they face?
While the school can take care of books and school supplies, there is no ready help for a child’s personal economic needs. As our eyes and ears, school personnel can determine when children need glasses for reading or a blanket for warmth.
How do we help?
Duo is behind the scenes, raising money, so that each principal of each public school; has the money without red tape to help a child immediately. At the end of the year, principals turn in ledgers to our DUO Board of Directors of how they have helped a child so that we can plan our financial goal for each year.
How do you help?

2026 Annual Goal

Transform a Life Today
We have met our goal of raising enough funds to distribute $38,000 each for the 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026 school years. Plus, we have raised extra funds for the principals when they have had to call for additional DUO Dollars to help more children with critical needs.
We have now set our yearly goal of fundraising to $48,000.

What they’re saying about us
Hear from the voices that matter most—educators, families, and community partners who have experienced the impact firsthand. Their stories reflect the difference your support makes in the lives of local school children and the strength of a community coming together to create brighter futures.
“GBHS had a student arrive to school today after spending the weekend in an emergency foster placement with her 10 year old brother. She had nothing besides the clothes she was wearing, and had been told it was unlikely she would be able to go home anytime soon. Because of DUO funds, we were able to purchase her two emergency outfits along with some toiletries and personal care items. The difference these funds made for this student can’t be measured and I am so incredibly grateful to DUO for giving us a way to help her! Thank you so much!”
“I wholeheartedly recommend the Do Unto Others program to any school or organization seeking effective and compassionate support in meeting the needs of their community. The dedication and generosity demonstrated by DUO are exemplary, and I am grateful for the partnership we have forged to ensure the success and well-being of our students.”
