We are receiving the ledgers and the DUO DOLLAR cards from our 38 Santa Rosa County principals. And we feel blessed. At the end of the past three school years, since DUO Santa Rosa, in Santa Rosa County, Florida, has existed, we receive these ledgers that verify the expenditures that principals have made for the students in their school.
It is strange but when we know that principals are spending money, we are happy.
I’m not sure that is a common statement unless it is a store that makes its money off of people who spend money. Of course, they are companies who want to make a profit.
But we are a non-profit organization, and we are ecstatic that we have the money for principals to spend.
We are ecstatic that principals are spending their DUO Dollars.
And we are ecstatic that children are being helped!
Even though the ledgers contain children’s first name and last name initial only, we respect the child’s privacy and will not print or disclose any ledger. But we definitely want to share messages that accompany these end-of-the-year ledgers.
This is from Klinton D Lay, Principal of Central School.
Mrs. Sanborn,
Attached please find the documentation for Central School’s use of the DUO cards this past school year. We received two cards, one for elementary and one for secondary. Our balance on the cards is $332.51 at this time. Thank you for all your leadership in establishing the DUO program. It has been a blessing to the students of Santa Rosa County.
We feel blessed that we had the funds to help the students in his school. We are excited that we are able to raise the money to give to these principals of Santa Rosa County, Florida. And we are happy that Principal Lay has the money to connect with these children, to give help immediately to these children, and to improve his students’ lives.
That is our mission and we rely on the 38 principals to be our eyes and ears to keep our mission going.
In addition, Principal Lay added another message and a request to DUO for the upcoming school year. We typically add back the used portion of each card for the principal. If a principal has spent $500, we give another card of $500 to total the $1000 card for each principal of each school for the beginning of the school year.

We definitely understand that each principal knows his student-body make up. And we are happy that Principal Lay is looking ahead and recognizing the value of the DUO Card and the value of his students.
And yes, there have been times when a principal has asked for more DUO Dollars after spending the original $1000. The principals know to call Linda Sanborn, President of DUO, and she will deliver another DUO card that same day. If she is out of town or out of time, she will find a way to have the DUO card delivered almost immediately.
These messages are exciting to us that we can see our mission active and working to the benefit of our children in Santa Rosa County.
We thank Principal Lay and all the principals of our Santa Rosa County schools for their work, their eyes and ears, and their dedication to helping our children.
